ELVIS, or 'Electronic Vision,' is a cortical implant that utilizes small currents to stimulate the visual cortex to produce vision. A microcomputer attached to the belt processes the outdoor scene and uses an AI algoirthm to help simplify objects for the user. Sensor Tech expects human trials to begin in 2023 and implants to be made available to the public in 2027.
