The Papale Lab relies on state-of-the-art (wireless) large-scale electrophysiology recordings in non-human primates, intracortical microstimulation and artificial intelligence (AI) models of visual perception. We aim at revealing a causal, ecological, and comprehensive understanding of visual perception and memory, by recording and perturbing the activity and connections of an unmatched number of neurons in primates, across the occipito-temporal and mediotemporal lobes in ecological conditions. The Papale Lab is currently supported by funding from the NWO (Dutch Research Organization) and a ERC Starting Grant (SteerMEM).
