IMI Intelligent Medical Implants was a medical technology company, founded in 2002. The goal of the company was to develop and market an intelligent retinal implant system for degenerative retinal disorders such as Retinitis Pigmentosa or Macular Degeneration and thereby make a contribution to the improvement of the quality of life of blind people.
IMI was acquired by Pixium Vision in 2013. Their IMI Retinal Implant System thus became IRIS I.
