Martin Pak worked for 35 years at the National Institute of Health after obtaining a degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Maryland and serving in the US army. At the NIH, his work focused on developing microelectrodes for the stimulation, acquisition and processing of neural signals. He founded his company Microprobes for Life Science in 1983. His most notable work is the first floating chronic microelectrode, also known as the FMA. In addition, he holds 3 US patents for his microelectrodes and has published and has co-authored many journals. He currently serves as the CEO of Microprobes for Life Science.
