The Optobionics corporation specializes in developing and implementing an Artificial Silicon Retina (ASR) microchip to patients diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa and age-related macular degeneration. The corporation was founded by two brothers: Dr. Alan Chow - an ophthalmic surgeon and Dr. Vincent Chow - an electrical engineer.
While the original corporation has halted its operation, Dr. Chow has acquired the Optobionics name and ASR microchip and is reorganizing the company under the Optobionics name.
