Arno Aarts, CEO of ATLAS Neuroengineering BV, earned his doctorate from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium, in 2011. Arno Aarts participated in the European NeuroProbes Project (FP6) of which part of the developed technology has been commercialised by ATLAS Neuroengineering. He worked in several cleanroom facilities at IMEC in Belgium, the University of Freiburg in Germany and at the LNF cleanroom of the University of Michigan in the group of professor Kensall D. Wise. During his term at Michigan Arno Aarts received a grant from the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO) and during his graduate studies he received a scholarship from the agency for Innovation by Science and Technology (IWT).
