Olivier Marre is a Research Director (Principal Investigator) at the Vision Institute in Paris, France.

He completed his PhD focusing on the encoding of natural stimuli by the visual cortex, utilizing a combination of modeling and experimental approaches. Following his doctoral studies, Marre undertook postdoctoral research on population coding in the retina.

His current research interests lie in understanding how the retina processes natural scenes and how retinal circuits implement the computations performed by ganglion cells. Throughout his career, Marre has consistently worked at the interface between theoretical and experimental neuroscience.
